A simple,comforting yet a tasty dhal.I love fresh fenugreek leaves which you get in winter.This is a easy to make when you have already cooked toor dhal.Also a great way to sneak up some greens.
Ingredients :
1.Toor Dhal : 1/2 cup
2.Turmeric : 1/2tsp
3.Hing : a pinch
4.Oil : 1/2tsp
5.Fenugreek Leaves : 1 cup
6.Tomato : 1 medium
7.Cinnamon : 1' inch
8.Cloves : 2
9.Cardamom : 1
10.Bay leaves : 1
11.Oil/Ghee : 1tbsp
12.Jeera : 1tsp
13.Red Chilli Powder : 1tsp
14.Coriander Powder : 1tsp
15.Amchur Powder : 1tsp
16.Salt : to taste
1.Cook the toor dhal with 1 1/2 cup of water,turmeric,hing and oil in pressure cooker.
2.In a kadai,heat oil and put Jeera.When it sizzle,throw in whole garam masala and fry 30 secs.
3.Add in the fenugreek leaves and fry.Then add the tomatoes and fry until soft.
4.Add the chilly,coriander,amchur powder and mix well.
5.Add cooked dhal with salt and mix well.If its too thick add 1/4 cup of water to dilute.
Serve with Peas Pulav and enjoy!!
