Spinach Pathroda

Pathroda!!! i know this name sounds different but its in Tulu.
Tulu is a language which mostly speaks in udipi and Dakshina kannada.Click here to know about Tulu language.Tulu doesnt have much of writing though.

So here comes the recipe which i got from my MIL.
You can also add cabbage instead of spinach. Its a nice and simple tasty dinner.

You can prepare this batter before night and kept in refrigerator.Later when you do you can add spinach.
Ingredients:
Raw ponni rice:1 cup
Coconut-3/4 cup
Sambar Powder-2 tpsp
Jaggery-1/2 cup
Tamarind-a small lemon size
Salt-as per taste
Spinach-3 handful

Mustard seeds,Jeera for tampering.

Saok the rice for 4 to 5 hours.
In a food processor add all the ingredients and grind in to smooth paste.
Add little by little water to make like a idli batter.Add salt.
Cut the spinach into small chunks.
Mix the spinach with batter and add this batter to greased idli batter.Steam these like idli.
After its done cool them off. Smash them.Be Careful it will be hot.
In a seperate pan with little oil tamper with mustard and jeera and add smashed pieces and fry a little.
We like this with extra sweet so if you want you can add extra jaggery and fry them.
If you want spicy instead of jaggery add chilli powder and fry a little.

Serve Hot and Enjoy!!!

Note: Another method is make a batter and add spinach and make like a dosa.My lil one didnt like this b'coz of the sweetness and i made her like a dosa without jaggery.
You can add variety of vegetables like spinach, cabbage, potato. We call this Uppu Puli Dosa

Its hot and one plate is going Siri and  Divya-Dilse for the event Healing Food -Spinach.

Cut the capsicum and jalapenos into small pieces and crumble the paneer. Mix all the ingredients with wheat flour and add little by little water to make a dough.Keep it aside for few minutes.
Take the dough and make a lemon size ball dust it with flour. With rolling pin roll it slowly
and flatten it. Spread flour over the flatten dough so it wont stick in the rolling pin and can able to flatten out.Heat a non-stick griddle, add a little oil or ghee and place the flatten dough in it.Once it has little pores on it flip it over and add oil or ghee.Turn side by side until it gets brown.
